These pair-ups have sole
By Samantha Thompson Smith, Staff Writer
Cole Haan and Nike tied the style-comfort knot first.
Now Nine West and New Balance are pairing up, bringing together New Balance's performance technology and Nine West's budget-friendly styling.
Meaning: New Balance will take care of those uncomfortable insoles while Nine West gets the colors and styling right.
Look for 20 styles of shoes in about 50 stores nationwide in the spring with prices ranging from $70 to $100.
In another partnership, Tracy Reese is now in step with Keds. The contemporary fashion designer, best known for her relatively affordable Plenty line, recently signed a deal to partner with the footwear brand. The shoe silhouettes are expected to have Reese's signature playful and whimsical look from the Plenty line. Their collaboration, including peep-toe wedge sneakers, skimmers and ballet flats, should hit stores in the spring. But expect a Plenty price rather than a Keds price: between $65 and $80. They'll be available at select department stores, Tracy Reese boutiques and at www.keds.com.
And for those of you with aching soles, you might want to look this fall for a new line of shoes by Cosmosis that has what the company calls a Reflex Zone Bed. It's an insole built into the shoe to make walking more comfortable by tapping into the various zones in the feet that correspond with the body's organs. The company says the reflex zones will activate circulation, stimulate blood flow, spur metabolism and even make you more relaxed. What might be better news to some is that the shoes come in sizes 5 to 14 and in three styles, including the stylish Nice, which has detailed stitching and a buckle.
Find the shoes in September at www.shoesizes5to14.com.
